Here is next week’s Spelling List. These words are taken from the pop song, the science book, Harcourt’s workbook, Megaflash etc. I postponed last week’s test until Monday because this week was very busy.

Daily English

Here is this week’s Daily English. Some are from our weekly pop song, and others are from science and grammar. 8, 9 and 10 are “free response.” Please help students think about what they want to say. For number 10, I would like the students to ask me an interesting question.

1. When I was young, I’d listen to the radio, Waiting for my favorite song. When they played, I’d sing along, It made me smile.
2. Always use past-tense verbs when you write about something that already happened.
3. Reptiles are cold blooded and have scaly skin. Most reptiles lay eggs.
4. Mammals are warm blooded and have hair or fur. Female mammals make milk for their babies.
5. The alphabet has 26 letters. A E I O U and sometimes Y are vowels. All the other letters are consonants. R S T L and N are the most common.
6. I have butterflies in my stomach!
7. Ini-mini-minee-moh! Catch a tiger by the toe! If he hollers, let him go! Ini-mini-minee-moh!
8. If I could travel to any country, I would visit _____________ because___________.
9. My favorite hobby is ____________________. I enjoy it because _____________.
